Choice Housing, as one of the Northern Ireland’s largest independent housing associations, continues to ‘work hard at developing new homes that are urgently needed’. Their ambition is ‘to make a positive and sustainable difference…… by promoting inclusive and thriving communities and neighbourhoods’. From this ethos Choice Housing commissioned Michael Whitley Architects via competitive tendering and design competition to deliver 19 Category 1 Apartment units for active older people comprising 17no. 3 person 2 bedroom units and 2no. Complex Needs units and to realise the maximum use of an inner city brown field site in East Belfast to meet local housing need. The contract commenced with the demolition of a former PSNI station and was completed in July 2021.
